A diagnosis

Hooray! Abby's blood tests and urine tests came back with a reason for her being small. She has Renal Tubular Acidosis or RTA and it affects her appetite to where she does not want to eat. So, she has to take some not so great tasting medicine and then she will want to eat better. Our pediatrician said that he has seen kids start the medicine and gain a couple pounds in a month because they feel so much better. I know it might seem a little weird to be excited that they found something, but it just means that I am not a bad mom and that now we can treat her and help her gain weight.

It's always good to know what's going on and that there's a solution! I hope she takes to it. She is so cute in this picture!

Yeah! We never doubted you, Maegan! I'm just glad it seems so easy to treat. Is this something she might grow out of or will she have to take the medicine for the long term? Best wishes! ~the Smiths
