The Croup

We have had an infestation of the croup this weekend. It has not been fun. Ellie was a trooper and handled it pretty well, but today Abby started getting worse and we took her to the doctor because she was having retractions (which means you could see her ribs because she was working so hard to breathe) and expiratory stridor (which sounds like a wheeze when she exhales). She was in respiratory distress and needed a nebulizer treatment and got some steroids, as did Ellie. Poor girls, hopefully we get more sleep tonight then we did last night.
